Basic Tomato Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| Vegetable oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Melted butter | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Onions | 2 , finely chopped | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm), smashed | |
| Tomatoes | 12 Large, chopped | |
| Parsley sprigs | 3 | |
| Oregano | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Thyme | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |
| Chillies | 1/4 Teaspoon, crushed | |
| Tomato Paste | 5 1/2 Ounce | |
| Pinch sugar | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Heat oil and butter in skillet.
Add onions and garlic; mix well, cover and cook 4 to 5 minutes over low heat.
Stir in tomatoes, seasonings, parsley and sugar; continue cooking covered 15 minutes over low heat.
Stir occasionally.
Remove cover and stir in tomato paste.
Finish cooking 10 to 15 minutes over low heat uncovered.
