Basic Recipe For Rolls Recipe

Ingredients
1 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. scalded milk
1/2 c. warm water
3 T. shortening
3 T. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 egg
3 c. sifted all purpose flour
Directions
1. Prepare yeast and water as directed on package.
2. Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt and cool to lukewarm.
3. Add yeast mixture and blend well.
4. Add egg.
5. Add flour gradually, mix thoroughly.
6. Turn dough out of well floured board, and knead until satiny and smooth.
7. Shape into rolls and place in well greased pans.
8. Let rise in warm place (80° to 85°) until double in volume, about one hour.
