Ingredients
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup raisins
Semisweet or white chocolate
Colored sprinkles, raisins, nuts or candied fruit pieces, for decoration
Directions
Cream butter and sugar; beat in egg yolk and salt.
Add flour just to blend thoroughly.
Mix in raisins.
On lightly floured surface, roll into 12-inch log.
Wrap securely and refrigerate at least 1 hour or up to 1 week.
Preheat oven to 350°F With sharp knife, slice cookies 1/3 inch thick; place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes until cookies are set and bottoms are lightly browned.
Remove to racks to cool completely.
Decorate as desired with melted semisweet or white chocolate and top with colored sprinkles, raisins, nuts or candied fruit pieces.
Cool; store between sheets of waxed paper in airtight container.
