Basic Buckwheat Kasha Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 cup buckwheat groats | ||
| 1 egg, lightly beaten | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 cups chicken or beef broth or water | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
MAKING
1) In a large heavy skillet or saucepan, combine the groats and egg, then cook over a medium heat and stir until dry.
2) Stir in rest of the ingredients and simmer covered for 15 minutes until groats are dry and tender.
3) Gently fluff with a fork and adjust the seasoning.
SERVING
4) Serve immediately in a nice plate.
