Barley Soup Recipe
Ingredients
Barley- 1/2 cup
Salt- 1 teaspoon
Boiling water- 1 quart
Soup stock- 2 quarts
Diced celery- 1/2 cup
Diced onions- 1/2 cup
Diced carrots- 1/2 cup
Green pepper- 1, diced
Directions
GETTING READY
1.Start by washing the barley in cold water
MAKING
2.In a pot, place barley and cook in boiling salted water for 2 hours until tender
3.Add stock when the boiling water has evaporated
4.Add vegetables to the pot, ½ hour before the soup is prepared completely
SERVING
5.Serve with bread sticks or salads, cooked vegetables
