Barley Griddle Bread Recipe

| Baking soda | 3⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Cream of tartar | 1 1⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), softened (or margarine) | |
| Buttermilk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) |

Directions
Add butter or margarine, and cut in until mixture resembles cornmeal.
Add sufficient buttermilk to make a soft dough.
Turn out onto a lightly floured surface.
Roll dough to lightly coat with flour.
Dip fingertips in flour and press out dough to a large circle 1/2 inch in thickness.
Cut into 1 inch circles, and bake on a 375° F.greased griddle.
Turn once.
Serve hot.
