Barley With Green Beans Parmesan Recipe
|Pearl barley||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), drained, rinsed|
|Olive oil||1 Tablespoon|
|Onion||1 Small, chopped|
|Frozen italian green beans/1/2 pound fresh green beans, sliced and steamed until tender-crisp, 5 to 7 minutes||10 Ounce, steamed (1 Package)|
|Dried oregano||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Dried basil||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Freshly ground black pepper||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Grated parmesan cheese||2 Tablespoon|
|Minced flat leaf parsley||1 Tablespoon|
|Pine nuts||2 Tablespoon, toasted|

Heat the oil in a saucepan; saute the onion until it is softened.
Add the green beans and cook according to the package directions.
When the beans are done, stir in the oregano, basil, and pepper.
Combine the barley and green beans.
Stir in the cheese and parsley.
Just before serving, toast the pine nuts and sprinkle them over the dish.
