Barley Water Recipe
Ingredients
1 qt. water
1/4 cup pearl barley
2 lemons
4 env. Equal low-calorie sweetener
Directions
Peel and squeeze the lemons; reserve the juice.
Combine the water barley and lemon peel in saucepan.
Bring to the boil, reduce heat, and simmer slowly for 2 to 2/4 hours.
Strain and cool to room temperature.
Add the reserved lemon juice and Equal low-calorie sweetener.
Stir to blend.
Chill thoroughly.
