Frozen ready-quick sandwich steaks - 1 package
Margarine or butter - 1/2 cup
Dry mustard - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Paprika - 1 teaspoon
Garlic salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Sugar - 1/2 tablespoon
Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Vinegar- 1 tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
Tomatoes -2, sliced
Sweet onion -1 large, sliced
Long loaf rye bread
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Remove the sandwich steaks from the packaging and set aside to thaw
2. Preheat the grill
3. Split loaf of rye bread in two, lengthwise and crosswise.
4. Spread bottom halves with remaining butter-mustard mixture. Cover with sliced tomatoes and sliced onion.
MAKING
5. In a large pan, combine the margarine, mustard, salt, paprika, garlic salt, sugar, lemon juice, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce and blend until smooth. Spread this mixture generously over the steak.
6. Fold the steaks twice, into quarters, with spread inside and thread three steaks onto each of two long metal skewers, alternately with chunks of the dill pickle.
Broil the meat over hot coals 10 to 15 minutes..
Push one skewer of barbecued beef and pickle onto the sliced onion on to each prepared bread roll. Cover with top portion of rye bread.
