Barbecued Turkey Leg Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 whole turkey leg, skinned | ||
| Vegetable oil | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Salt, pepper and paprika | ||
| Onion | 1 Small, finely chopped | |
| Celery | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| 3/4 cup red ketchup | ||
| Water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Worcestershire sauce | 2 Tablespoon | |
| White vinegar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Brown sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Dry mustard | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Brush turkey leg with 2 tbsp (30 mL) oil.
Season.
On a barbecue, place an oiled grid 3 inches (7.5 cm) from charcoal.
Roast turkey leg 3 minutes each side.
Raise grid to 6 inches (15 cm).
Continue cooking 25 minutes or so, turning over meat regularly.
Baste with a little oil, if needed.
In a skillet, heat remaining oil.
Lightly fry vegetables.
Add remaining ingredients.
Mix to a smooth sauce.
Over low heat, simmer 15 minutes.
Place turkey leg on a bed of rice.
Coat with sauce.
Season.
