Ingredients
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons dry sherry
1 tablespoon minced peeled gingerroot
1 green onion, minced
4 beef rib eye steaks, each 3/4 inch thick
Directions
1. Prepare outdoor grill for barbecuing.
2. Meanwhile, on deep platter or in 13" by 9" baking dish, mix soy sauce, sherry, gingerroot, and green onion.
3. Trim excess fat from steaks. Add steaks to soy-sauce mixture, turning to coat both sides.
4. Place steaks on grill over medium heat; grill 5 to 10 minutes for medium-rare or until of desired doneness, brushing frequently with sauce mixture and turning steaks occasionally.
TO BROIL IN OVEN: About 25 minutes before serving, prepare steaks with soy-sauce mixture as above. Preheat broiler if manufacturer directs. Place steaks on rack in broiling pan. Broil steaks about 10 minutes for medium-rare or until of desired doneness, brushing steaks frequently with soy-sauce mixture and turning once.
