Barbecued Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
Roasting Chicken- 1nos (4 pounds), whole
1/4 cup Soy Sauce- 1/4 cup
Garlic- 2 cloves, minced
Salt- 2 teaspoons
Pepper- 1/4 teaspoon
Sugar- 1 teaspoon
Five-Spice Mixture- 1 1/2 teaspoons
Oil- 2 tablespoons
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Wash and dry the chicken.
2) In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, sugar, five-spice mixture and oil.
3) Rub the soy sauce mixture into the chicken, inside and out.
4) Let the chicken rest for 1 hour.
5) Preheat the oven to 425°F.
MAKING
6) Place the chicken in a shallow roasting pan.
7) Roast in the oven for 2 minutes or until chicken is tender and browned.
8) Baste the chicken with the remaining marinade and turn frequently.
SERVING
9) To serve, carve into joints or chop up into inch-wide pieces, Chinese fashion.
