 Bacon1/2 pound, chopped
 Onions2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped

 Beef broth1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 12 ounces bottled chili sauce
 Brown sugar1/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Honey2 Tablespoon
 Lemon juice4 Tablespoon
 Lemon peel1 Tablespoon, grated
 Cider vinegar2 Tablespoon
 Hot pepper sauce1 Teaspoon
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Cayenne pepper1/2 Teaspoon
 Ground cumin1/2 Teaspoon
 Ginger1/4 Teaspoon
 Bay Leaf1
 Ground cloves1/8 Teaspoon
 Worcestershire sauce1 Tablespoon
 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into bits

Directions

In a saucepan cook the bacon over moderate heat, stirring, until it is golden With a slotted spoon, transfer to a plate and pour off all but 2 tablespoons fat.
Add the onions and green pepper and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, for 8 to 10 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.
Stir in the garlic and cook 1 minute.
Add the reserved bacon and all the remaining ingredients except the butter.
Simmer for 30 minutes, skimming, and let cool 15 minutes.
Discard the bay leaf.
Transfer the sauce to a blender and puree until combined well.With the motor running, add the butter and continue to blend until it is incorporated.
Transfer to jars with tight fitting lids and keep refrigerated.
