Barbecue Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1 medium onion, very finely chopped | ||
| 4 celery sticks, trimmed and finely chopped | ||
| 1 medium green pepper, very finely chopped | ||
| Garlic | 4 Clove (5gm), finely chopped | |
| Wine vinegar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Lemon juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Worcestershire sauce | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 2 heaped Ms dark brown sugar | ||
| Mustard powder | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 300 ml/1/2 pint tomato ketchup | ||
| Water or tomato juice as needed | ||
Directions
Melt the butter in a medium pan; soften and brown the onion well.
Add the other chopped vegetables and stir until softened.
Add all the other ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes, then dilute with water or tomato juice to a coating consistency that is not too gooey.
