Ingredients
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 1/2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 medium-size yellow onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, crumbled
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 can (8 ounces) low-sodium tomato sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire or low-sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons each honey and molasses
Directions
1 In a cup, stir the mustard with the vinegar until dissolved.
Let stand for at least 10 minutes.
In a small saucepan, heat the oil over moderately low heat.
Add the onion, garlic, chili powder, oregano, and salt.
Cook, stirring occasionally, for 8 minutes or until the onion is soft.
Stir in the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and molasses.
Bringto a simmer; cook, partially covered, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until thickened.
Will keep, refrigerated, for up to 2 weeks.
