Bar Le Duc Recipe

Ingredients

 
2 qts. gooseberries, put through grinder
 
1 qt. currants, picked off stems
 
8 cups sugar
 
1/2 pt. water

Directions

Put gooseberries in kettle with 1/2 pt. water and cook 1/2 hour.
Add sugar and continue cooking for 1/2 hour.
Add currants and cook until syrup jells.
If a little less water is used, it will jell much faster.
