Bananas Flambe Recipe
This Bananas Flambe is one of the best fruit flambe you can ever try. Ingredients
1/3 cup butter or margarine
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
3 tablespoons lemon or orange juice
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon or orange rind
4 bananas, cut in half crosswise and lengthwise
1/4 to 1/3 cup Cointreau, brandy, or rum, optional
Whipped cream, optional
Directions
Melt butter or margarine in blazer pan of chafing dish over direct high flame.
Stir in next 4 ingredients.
Heat, stirring constantly.
Add bananas; spoon syrup over fruit; turn banana pieces carefully until glazed, about 5 minutes.
Place pan in water jacket to keep hot for serving.
If desired, before serving ladle warmed cointreau, brandy, or rum over fruit; ignite.
Serve when flame dies.
