Banana Split With Strawberry Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| 2/3 cup instant non-fat dry milk | ||
| Ice water | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Artificial sweetener to equal 1/2 cup sugar (12 envelopes) | ||
| Vanilla extract | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Bananas | 2 Medium | |
| Strawberries | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Using a deep bowl, combine dry milk, ice water, artificial sweetener and vanilla extract.
Beat at low speed of electric mixer for 1 minute, then beat at high speed until mixture is the consistency of thick cream, about 10 minutes in all.
Chill in freezer for 3 hours or until mixture has the texture of ice cream.
Peel bananas and cut in half lengthwise or crosswise, depending on shape of dish.
Put halves into 2 banana-split (or shallow dessert) dishes; top each dish with 1 small scoop of frozen milk mixture.
Reserve about 3/4-1 cup of the milk mixture and leave at room temperature to soften.
Put dishes back in freezer to stay firm.
Beat reserved milk mixture until it is the texture of whipped cream.
Reserve 6 berries; gently mash remaining berries to release juice.
Pour mashed strawberries and whipped milk mixture over banana split; garnish with 3 strawberries.
