Directions

Peel bananas; cut in half crosswise, then lengthwise; let stand in mixture of orange juice and sugar.
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Mix remaining ingredients; add to dry ingredients, stirring only till moistened.
Drain bananas; dip into batter, spreading batter evenly over bananas.
Fry in deep hot fat (375°) 2 to 3 minutes or till fritters are golden brown.
Drain.
Serve with dessert topping or whipped cream.
Pass Orange Lemon Sauce.
Orange Lemon Sauce: Mix 1/2 cup sugar, 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch, and dash salt; stir in 3/4 cup water.
Bring to boiling, stirring constantly.
Cook and stir till thick and clear.
Remove from heat; add 2 tablespoons butter, 1/4.
CUP orange juice, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
Serve warm.
