Directions

GETTING READY
1 In a bowl, peel and mash the banana well.
2 Add in the sugar, almond, butter, salt and cardamom, mix well.
3 Add whole wheat flour and all purpose flour to the banana mix.
4 Knead and make a smooth and firm dough.
5 Set aside for 2 hours.

MAKING
6 Lightly grease your fingers and divide the dough into 4 equal parts.
7 Roll them into 8” diameter and cut them in about 2” diameter using a cookie cutter.
8 In a frying pan, heat oil on medium heat.
9 To check if the oil is hot enough, drop in a piece of dough, it should sizzle and come up slowly.
10 Fry the puris, a few at a time, without overcrowding the pan.
11 Fry the puris till they are brown in color.
12 Remove from the pan on to paper towels to absorb extra oil.

SERVING
13 Serve the puris hot or at room temperature.

TIP
Replace butter with oil to get a vegan version of the recipe.
