Banana Pops Recipe

Banana Pops was an experiment which turned out to be horribly right. Banana Pops is a cookie which will delight you down for sure. Try it!

Ingredients

 
3 tablespoons water
 
2 teaspoons ascorbic-acid mixture for fruit
 
4 large bananas, peeled and cut crosswise into thirds
 
12 wooden ice-cream-bar sticks
 
1 6-ounce package semisweet-chocolate pieces
 
2 tablespoons salad oil
 
1/2 cup shredded coconut
 
1/2 cup toasted shredded coconut

Directions

1. In large bowl, stir water and ascorbic-acid mixture until dissolved; gently toss banana pieces in mixture until coated. Insert a wooden stick about 1 inch deep into end of each banana piece. Place on cookie sheet; freeze until firm, about 45 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, in heavy small saucepan over low heat, heat chocolate pieces with salad oil, stirring occasionally, until mixture melts and is smooth. Pour chocolate mixture into pie plate. Place each kind of coconut on waxed paper.
3. Remove bananas from freezer and quickly roll each in chocolate, then roll some bananas in shredded coconut and some in toasted shredded coconut. Return bananas to cookie sheet and freeze at least 30 minutes longer.
