Moist Banana Nut Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 cups sifted self-rising flour or 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted with 2 teaspoons baking powder | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Walnuts | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Bananas | 2 | |
| 1/4 cup golden or light corn syrup | ||
| Egg | 1 | |
Directions
Grease a large 9x5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
Sift the flour and salt into a bowl, rub in the margarine until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs and then add the sugar and the chopped nuts.
Mash the bananas with the syrup, and then beat in the egg.
Stir the banana mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well together.
Turn this mixture into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake in the center of a moderate oven (350°F) for about 1 hour.
Cool in the pan and when cold turn out.
