Ingredients
| 1 lb/450 g fresh strawberries | ||
| Balsamic vinegar | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Mascarpone cheese | 37 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Pepper | 1 | |
Directions
1. Wipe the strawberries with a damp cloth, rather than rinsing them, so they do not become soggy. Using a paring knife, cut off the green stalks at the top and use the tip of the knife to remove the core or hull.
2. Cut each strawberry in half lengthwise or into fourths if large. Transfer to a bowl.
3. Add the balsamic vinegar, allowing tablespoon per person. Add several twists of ground black pepper, then gently stir together. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for up to 4 hours.
4. Just before serving, stir in torn mint leaves to taste. Spoon the mascarpone into bowls and spoon the berries on top. Decorate with a few mint leaves, if desired. Sprinkle with extra pepper to taste.
