Honey And Cinnamon Baklava Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup sweet butter
2 cups blanched,
chopped almonds
10-15 sheets Phyllo
(ready-made pastry)
Syrup:
1 cup honey
few lemon rinds
few cinnamon sticks
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
few orange rinds
Directions
Line a buttered baking pan with a sheet of Phyllo* pastry.
Sprinkle with melted butter and spread with 2-3 tblspns, chopped almonds.
Place 1 - 2 sheets of Phyllo on top and sprinkle with melted butter.
Alternate with layers of almonds.
Use 3 sheets of pastry on top; the last one must be unbroken.
Use the broken sheets in the layers.
Baste with melted butter and score with the point of a knife through the top sheets.
Bake in a moder- ate oven at first, then increase heat until pastry is golden brown.
Bake for 1 hour.
While it is cooling, boil the syrup ingredients together, then strain and pour over the bak- lava.
Cool, then cut the scored shapes through and allow to absorb the syrup before serving.
