Baked Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe
This Baked Stuffed Mushrooms recipe is one of the gems from my family cookbook. It is a great Side Dish. The primary ingredient in Baked Stuffed Mushrooms is always Vegetable. In my estimation, if one calls oneself a good cook, one ought to have a personal recipe of Baked Stuffed Mushrooms, just like I do.
Ingredients
12 large mushrooms
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon chopped green onions
11/2 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup chicken stock or sherry or cream or red wine grating of nutmeg
1 tablespoon of chopped parsley, fresh
Salt and pepper to taste
6 crackers, crushed
2 tablespoons melted butter
Directions
Wash mushrooms and pat dry.
Remove stems and chop finely.
In a heavy skillet, melt butter; saute onions and chopped mushroom stems, cook slowly for 10 minutes.
Add flour and liquid of your choice; mix well.
Add nutmeg parsley, salt and pepper.
Cool.
Put mushroom caps in buttered dish; fill with mixture; cover with mixture of cracker crumbs and melted butter.
Heat for 15 minutes at 425 degree F.
