Baked Pork Chops And Noodles Recipe
Ingredients
4 loin, rib, or shoulder pork chops, cut 3/4 inch thick
2 cans (about 1 pound each) tomatoes
1 medium-size onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon leaf marjoram, crumbled
1 bay leaf
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 package (8 ounces) noodles
4 thin onion slices
8 green-pepper strips
Directions
1 Trim excess fat from chops; broil on both sides in large heavy frying pan; drain on paper toweling.
2 Mix tomatoes, onion, salt, sugar, marjoram, bay leaf, and pepper in large bowl.
3 Place dry noodles in 8-cup baking dish; pour tomato mixture over; arrange pork chops on top; garnish each with an onion slice and 2 green-pepper strips; covertightly with aluminum foil.
4 Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 1 hour; remove cover; bake 10 minutes longer, or until chops are tender.
