 6 loin pork chops, cut about 1 in. thick
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Pepper1/4 Teaspoon
 Brown sugar2 Tablespoon
 Sauerkraut2 Cup (16 tbs), undrained
 1/2 cup seedless raisins, plumped
 Onions12 Small, canned
 2 unpared apples, cored and cut in wedges

Directions

Brown the chops on both sides in a large skillet.
Season chops with half of the salt and pepper.
Meanwhile, toss a mixture of brown sugar and the remaining salt and pepper with the sauerkraut.
Mix in raisins, onions, and apples.
Turn sauerkraut mixture into a shallow baking dish.
Top with chops, slightly overlapping.
Bake, covered, at 350°F about 1 hour, or until the meat is tender.
