Ingredients

 Green apples4 Medium (crispy)
 Cinnamon stick/1 1/4 teaspoon powdered3 Inch, broken or ground
 Allspice berries/1/2 teaspoon all spice14 , ground
 Nutmeg1⁄8 Teaspoon, grated
 Brown sugar1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
 Cold butter3 Tablespoon
 Lemon1⁄2 Medium (juiced)
 Golden raisins3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
 Prunes1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (dried)
 Walnuts/Other nuts3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), chopped

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Butter a deep baking dish that has a lid.
Core the apples but do not peel them. Arrange them in the dish. Cut apples
to fit, if necessary.
Combine all remaining ingredients in bowl. Mix well (this is where grating
the butter comes in handy). Stuff this mixture into the holes and spaces
in and between the apples.
Bake covered at 400 degrees F. for about 30 minutes. Serve hot with
vanilla ice cream.
