Baked Apple Puff Recipe
Ingredients
| Baking apples | 8 Small, peeled | |
| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cinnamon | 1 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Raisins | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 3 , separated | |
| Sifted flour | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Milk | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vanilla extract | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 2 tablespoons Land O'Lakes Butter | ||
| 2 tablespoons chopped Diamond Walnuts | ||
Directions
Combine 34 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
Coat apples with sugar mixture.
Place in greased 12x8-inch baking dish.
Fill centers of apples with raisins and remaining sugar mixture.
Combine 1 1/4 cups flour, 1/4 cup sugar and baking powder.
Beat egg whites until foamy.
Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar; continue beating until stiff.
Beat egg yolks until well blended.
Combine milk and vanilla extract.
Add alternately with dry ingredients to egg yolks, beginning and ending with milk.
Gently fold into egg whites.
Pour over apples.
Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown.
Meanwhile, combine 34 cup flour, 1/4 cup sugar and 34 teaspoon cinnamon.
Cut in butter until mixture is fine.
Stir in walnuts.
