Ingredients

 1 Ig. can whole peeled tomatoes
 2 sm. cans tomato paste
 Onion1 Medium, chopped (Sauce)
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced (Sauce)
 Salt1 Teaspoon (Sauce)
 Sugar1 Tablespoon (Sauce)
 Basil1 Teaspoon (Sauce)
 Oregano1 Teaspoon (Sauce)
 Parsley1 Cup (16 tbs) (Sauce)
 Oil1/4 Cup (16 tbs) (Sauce)
 2 lb. Italian sweet sausage
 Beef1/2 Pound, chopped (Sauce)
 Ziti1 Pound (Ziti:)
 Ricotta cheese1/2 Pound (Ziti:)
 Mozzarella1/2 Pound (Ziti:)

Directions

Place all sauce ingredients except sausage in a large pot.
Blanche sausage in oven or skillet.
Cook sauce 3 hrs. on low heat stirring occasionally.
Be careful not to burn.
Refrigerate overnight.
Remove sausage and slice in 1/8-inch pieces.
Cook ziti noodles al dente.
Remove from pot and cool with cold water.
Return to a cool pot.
Add ricotta cheese and sauce to the ziti to make desired consistency not too wet.
Mix in sausage slices.
Place in baking dish and top with sliced mozzarella.
Bake at 350° for 1 hr.
