Baked Turkey Cheddar Sandwiches Recipe
Ingredients
| 12 slices of firm bread | ||
| Eggs | 3 , beaten | |
| Milk | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Seasoned salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter or margarine | ||
| Cream | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| 1/2 cup each of undiluted evaporated milk and turkey or chicken broth | ||
| 1/2 teaspoon bottled thick condiment sauce | ||
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Cooked turkey | 2 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| Cheddar Cheese | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), grated | |
Directions
Dip bread into mixture of eggs, milk, and seasoned salt.
Brown on both sides in hot butter.
Put 6 slices in shallow baking dish.
Mix soup, evaporated milk, broth, condiment sauce, pepper, and turkey.
Spoon on toast slices.
Top with remaining slices, and sprinkle with cheese.
Bake in preheated hot oven (400°F.) for 15 to 20 minutes.
Good with succotash, sliced-tomato and watercress salad, and baked fresh pears.
Makes 6 servings.
