Baked Salmon in Grape Leaves Recipe
Ingredients
| Salmon fillets- 4 (5-ounce), each about 1 inch thick | ||
| Kosher salt | 1 To taste | |
| Black pepper | 1 To taste | |
| Grape or fig leaves- 8 | ||
| Extra-virgin olive oil- 1 tablespoon | ||
| Lemon | 1/2 | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Start by preheating the oven to 400°F also wash the grapes leaves and pat dry
MAKING
2. Lay each fillet on a surface, and season with salt and pepper, set the fillets aside at room temperature
3. Take the stem of the leaves, and trim knobby end, now rub a few drops of olive oil on the glossy side of each leaf, also oil a baking sheet with oil
4. Lay the grape leaves on the baking sheet, glossy sides up, and set a fillet in the center of a pair of leaves
5. Finally bake for 6 to 8 minutes till the leaves brown, when the salmon turns pink in the center, then remove it from the leaves and discard the leaves
6. Before serving the baked salmon, squeeze a little lemon juice and drizzle the remaining olive oil over the salmon
SERVING
7. Serve with a sauce of your choice, salads, cooked vegetables or bread
