Baked Quinces With Brown Sugar Butter Recipe

Ingredients

 
4 medium-sized quinces
 
Ground cinnamon
 
4 tablespoons butter or margarine softened
 
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
 
Heavy or whipping cream or milk (optional)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Do not peel quinces. Starting at stem end of each quince, remove core, being careful not to cut through blossom end. Place quince, cored end up, in 8" by 8" baking dish.
2. Bake quinces 45 minutes. Remove baking dish from oven. Sprinkle hollow center of each quince lightly with ground cinnamon. Place 1 tablespoon butter or margarine and 1 tablespoon brown sugar in center of each quince, mounding any excess on top, if necessary.
3. Return baking dish to oven and continue baking about 15 minutes longer or until quinces are fork-tender, spooning any butter mixture in baking dish over quinces occasionally.
