Baked Herring and Potato Recipe
Ingredients
| Medium potatoes - 4 | ||
| Herrings | 3 , pickled | |
| Sour cream or yogurt - 1/4 pint | ||
| Wheat germ | 4 Ounce | |
| Oil | 2 Ounce | |
| Salt | 1 To taste | |
| Paprika - to taste | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1.Preheat the oven.
2.Cut herrings into fine pieces.
MAKING
3.Bake potatoes with their skin.
4.Once done, remove the skin and slice them thinly.
5.Take an ovenproof dish and grease it lightly.
6.Add a layer of herring topped with a potato layer.
7.Add sour cream or yogurt on every layer and add a sprinkling of salt and paprika.
8.Repeat the layers making sure the top layer is of potatoes.
9.Add wheat germ on the top and give touch of oil.
10.Bake the dish for 40 minutes.
SERVING
11.Serve warm.
