Ingredients

 
1 precooked ham cloves
 
1/2 Ib. raisins
 
1 can clear, consommt
 
1 Ib. apple butter
 
1 1/2 cups sherry

Directions

Boil the ham until it is three quarters done about 20 minutes to the pound.
Save 1 quart of the water in which it was boiled.
Remove the skin and score the fat.
Decorate the fat with cloves.
Mix the other ingredients together with the 1 quart water and place in a roaster with the ham.
Bake the ham in a 350° oven until it is done and nicely browned about 1 1/2 hours basting with the sauce while cooking.
This sauce is not only delicious for serving with the hot ham, but thickens on cooling and can be stored indefinitely in the refrigerator and served cold as a relish with fowl or almost any kind of roast meat.
