Baked Ham With Apricot Brandy Glaze Recipe
Ingredients
| Ham for baking - 1 | ||
| Brown sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Apricot or other fruit brandy - 1/4 cup | ||
| Apricots | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| French mustard | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1 In a baking tray, place the ham and bake at 350F.
MAKING
2 One hour before the ham has completely baked, remove it from the oven.
3 Carefully cut away the rind.
4 Using a sharp knife, score the underlying fat.
5 Cut it into diamond patterns.
6 Press brown sugar into the fat.
7 Generously drizzle with fruit brandy.
8 Drain the apricots from the can, reserving the syrup.
9 Add mustard to the syrup.
10 Transfer the mixture to a pan and gently heat.
11 Pour the syrup over the ham and place in the oven again.
12 Bake for another 60 minutes or until done.
13 Baste the ham with pan juices every fifteen minutes.

14 Decorate with apricots and serve.
