Baked French Toast With Orange Syrup Recipe
Ingredients
| Nonstick cooking spray | ||
| 1 slightly beaten egg | ||
| 1 slightly beaten egg white | ||
| 3/4 cup fat-free milk | ||
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 8 1/2 inch slices French bread | ||
| 1 recipe Orange Syrup | ||
Directions
Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray; set aside.
In a shallow dish combine , the whole egg, egg white, milk, and vanilla.
Dip bread slices in egg mixture, coating both sides.
Place slices on the prepared baking sheet.Bake in a 450° oven about 6 minutes or until bread is lightly browned.
Turn bread over and bake 5 to 8 minutes more or until golden brown.
Serve French toast with warm Orange Syrup.
Orange Syrup: In a small saucepan combine 2/3 cup orange juice, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch, and 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.
Cook and stir for 2 minutes more
