Coriander leaves, chopped very fine
3 garlic cloves, chopped very fine
1 ginger, chopped very fine
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
1/4 teaspoon cardamom and caraway seed powder
2 tablespoons sour curds or 1 tablespoon tamarind juice
1 teaspoon pomegranate seeds, optional
Salt
Directions
Clean and salt the fish and set aside for half an hour.
Mix all the other ingredients.
Place the fish on a greased dish, rub some of the mixture into it and pour the rest of the mixture over it.
Bake the fish in a hot oven for about twenty minutes.
When the onion has become soft, you may assume that the fish is cooked.
If you do not have an oven place the dish on a low fire and cover it with a lid.
After ten minutes, turn the fish over gently.
Cover again and cook till soft.
A charcoal fire is best for cooking it this way.
After you have turned the fish over, place a few live coals on the lid.
