4 eggs
 
2 cups milk
 
1/2 cup sugar
 
1 teaspoon vanilla
 
1/4 teaspoon salt
 
Ground nutmeg (optional)

Directions

In a medium bowl beat eggs.
Stir in milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
Place six 6-ounce custard cups in a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
Divide egg mixture among the custard cups.
Sprinkle mixture with ground nutmeg, if desired.
Place on oven rack.
Pour boiling water into pan around custard cups to depth of 1 inch.
Bake at 325° til I knife inserted near the center comes out clean, 30 to 40 minutes.
