Ingredients
6 ears corn, or 1 can (12 oz.) whole-kernel corn, well drained
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 green pepper, finely chopped
3 tablespoons butter or margarine

2 cups milk
1 cup shredded American or mild Cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
Crushed cornflakes or Crumb Butter Topping
Directions
If fresh corn is used, cut kernels from cob.
In a saucepan, saute onion and green pepper in butter until tender; stir in flour; add milk and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and smooth.
Remove from heat, stir in the cheese, salt, pepper, sugar, corn, and then the eggs.
Turn into a greased casserole and top with crushed cornflakes or Crumb-Butter Topping.
Set in a shallow pan of hot water and bake in a 350° oven about 45 minutes.
