Baked Chicken Recipe
This baked chicken recipe is a simple recipe that is great for homely meals. Quick to fix, this baked chicken is made with lemon rub and basted with butter for cooking. Spiced and seasoned to taste, this baked chicken can be served with salads or sides of choice.
Ingredients
1 (2 1/2 to 3 pound) broiler fryer, split
1 lemon, halved
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted and divided
Directions
Place chicken, skin side up, in a shallow roasting pan.
Rub chicken with lemon, squeezing out juice occasionally.
Combine salt, paprika, and pepper; sprinkle over chicken; brush with 1/4 cup butter.
Bake, uncovered, at 450° for 10 minutes.
Baste with remaining butter.
Reduce heat to 350°; cover and bake an additional 35 minutes or until tender
