Baked Cheese Fondue Recipe
This Baked Cheese Fondue makes a good Main Dish for most meals. This is the most comforting Main Dish recipe I have come across. This Baked Cheese Fondue is too good to be missed.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon butter for greasing baking dish
5 eggs, separated
1 1/4 cups scalded milk
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
Salt and fresh pepper to taste
2 cups soft bread cubes
1/2 pound Cheddar cheese, grated
Directions
Preheat oven to 325° F.
Generously butter a 1-quart casserole.
In bowl, combine egg yolks, milk, mustard, salt, and pepper; mix well.
Add bread cubes and cheese.
Using clean bowl and beater, beat whites until soft peaks form; fold into cheese mixture.
Carefully pour into prepared casserole.
Set in pan of hot water; bake 30 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
