Baked Beans With Ground Beef Topping Recipe
Ingredients
| Ground beef | 1 pound | |
| Green pepper | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), finley chopped | |
| Celery | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sliced | |
| Tomato sauce | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vinegar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| Dry mustard | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Thyme | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Firmly packed brown sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Pork and beans | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste |
Directions
Cook beef in heavy skillet.
Add green pepper, onion, and celery, and saute until beef is brown and vegetables are limp.
Stir in tomato sauce, water, vinegar, garlic, mustard, thyme, brown sugar, and salt and pepper to taste.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Spoon pork and beans into a greased 1 1/2 quart baking dish; spoon meat mixture over top.
Bake at 375° for 45 minutes.
