4 large cooking apples
 
1/4 cup raisins
 
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
 
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
 
4 teaspoons butter or margarine
 
1 cup rose wine

Directions

Core apples; peel strip from top of each.
Place apples in an 8x8x2-inch baking pan.
Stir together raisins, brown sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg; spoon into apple centers.
Top each apple with 1 teaspoon of the butter.
Pour wine into baking dish.
Bake in 350° oven for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or till apples are tender, spooning wine over apples occasionally.
