Baked Apples Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 tablespoon maple syrup, light brown sugar, or honey | ||
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Raisins | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Walnuts | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), coarsely chopped | |
| Lemon zest strip | 2 , chopped | |
| 4 Granny Smith apples, cored, the top third cut off and discarded | ||
| White wine | 6 Tablespoon | |
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
2. Combine maple syrup, brown sugar or honey, cinnamon, raisins, walnuts, and lemon zest in a small bowl. Divide mixture into four parts and stuff inside apples.
3. Place apples in a small baking dish, so that they are touching (the mutual support helps keep them together) and pour the wine around them.
4. Bake for about 1 hour, or until the apples are soft.
