Ingredients
Pop Art Cookies
Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix - 1 pouch (1 pound 1.5 ounce)
Butter or margarine, softened - 1/3 cup
Gold Medal® all-purpose flour - 2 tablespoons
Egg - 1
Wooden sticks with rounded ends - 12
Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy frosting (any white variety) - 1 container (1 pound)
Food colors in desired colors
Assorted candy decorations
Cinna-Spin Cookies
Cookies:
Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix - 1 pouch (1 pound 1.5 ounce)
Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
Butter or margarine - 1/2 cup, softened
Egg - 1, slightly beaten
Ground cinnamon - 1 tablespoon
Glaze:
Powdered sugar - 1 cup
Milk - 2 tablespoons
Vanilla - 1/4 teaspoon
Directions
Pop Art Cookies
GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
MAKING
2. In a bowl, add sugar cookie mix, add softened butter or margarine, egg and flour. Mix until the dough is formed.
3. Add flour to your work surface and roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thick.
4. Use a 3-inch circle cookie cutter to press the cutter on the dough.
5. Insert a wooden stick on each side of the cookie so that it looks like a lollipop.
6. Place it on a cookie sheet and bake it in an oven at 375°F for 9 to 11 minutes. Keep it aside to cool.
7. Divide frosting among four small bowls. Add three different food colours to the three bowls.
8. Colour and decorate the cookie as desired. You can even pipe frostings on cookies in desired designs. Decorate with candy decorations.
SERVING
9. Serve it as it is or in glass jars.
Cinna-Spin Cookies
GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
MAKING
2. In a bowl, mix sugar cookie mix, softened butter or margarine, egg and cinnamon. Mix till a soft dough forms.
3. Shape approximately one tablespoon of dough into a 5-inch long rope.
4. Line cinnamon on a piece of waxed paper.
5. Dip the rope into cinnamon on one side and roll the tope such that it resembles a cinnamon roll.
6. Place each cookie on a cookie sheet for about 2 inches apart.
7. Bake it in the oven at 375°F for 7 to 10 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.
8. Keep it aside to cool for a minute. Transfer cookies from cookie sheet into the cooling rack. Let it cool completely, say for about 15 minutes.
9. Make a glaze with powdered sugar and milk.
10. Drizzle it on cookies so that they resemble cookie rolls.
11. In small bowl, mix glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over cookies.
