I made a trifle last night, I put heaps of port into the sponge, is really nice. Just need to make sure the jelly is slightly set so it only soaks into the fruit and not into the sponge! =)

Also, Some trifles can contain a small amount of alcohol such as port or sherry. Just to make it more interesting.

Not the same but the texture is similiar and both are yummy.. Both are very tasty! Often Trifle is served at Christmas and has a vanilla custard with sherry flavour, ladyfingers, fresh berries, whipped cream, etc.. It is an English dessert. I have added other liquor for some zap. Tiramisu basically includes Mascarpone cheese, raw eggs, sugar, espresso coffee, ladyfingers, liquor and cocoa. Heavy cream is an optional ingredient. The richness and "mouth experience" depends on the quantity of each ingredient, and the care of preparation. It is a prized Italian dessert. I love it! Shanti/Mary-Anne
