Aunt Lottie's Pound Cake Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 bar (4 oz.) Semi-Sweet Chocolate | ||
| Butter | 1 Cup (16 tbs), softened | |
| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 5 | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Flour | 1 1/3 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Baking powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
In double boiler, melt chocolate over 1-inch simmering water.
Cream butter until light.
Gradually add sugar, creaming until fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Blend in vanilla and melted chocolate.
Sift flour with baking powder.
Gradually mix in dry ingredients.
Pour into greased 9 by 5-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350°F for 50-60 minutes.
