Swans Down Apricot Bars Recipe
This Apricot Bars received such rave reviews from all. I never fail to eat Dessert while dining out and this is the most common dish that I order. Stock up on plenty of bags of Fruits as you will want to make this Apricot Bars time and again. Note this Apricot Bars, otherwise you might regret your decision later.
Ingredients
1 cup chopped dried apricots
1 cup water
1 1/4 cups sifted Swans Down Cake Flour
1/2 teaspoon Calumet Baking Powder
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup Post Grape-Nuts Flakes, crushed
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Baker's Angel Flake Coconut
Directions
Simmer apricots in water until liquid is absorbed, about 8 minutes.
Cool.
Sift flour, baking powder, and cinnamon together.
Mix in crushed cereal.
Cream butter and sugar together.
Cut in dry ingredients to form a uniform crumb mixture.
Mix in coconut.
Press about two-thirds of the crumb mixture firmly into an ungreased 8x8x2-inch pan.
Spread the apricot mixture evenly over crumbs.
Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
Bake in moderate oven (375°F.) for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cut in bars or squares.
