 Dried apricots2/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Butter/Margarine1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, divided
 Baking powder1/2 Teaspoon
 Salt1/4 Teaspoon
 Firmly packed brown sugar1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Eggs2 , Well beaten
 Vanilla extract1/2 Teaspoon
 Nuts1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped

Directions

Rinse apricots: cover with water; boil for 10 minutes.
Drain, cool; chop.
Mix together the butter, sugar and 1 cup flour.
Pack into a greased 8-inch-square pan; bake at 325° for 25 minutes.
Combine remaining 1/2 cup flour, baking powder and salt.
Gradually beat brown sugar into eggs: mix in flour mixture, then vanilla extract, nuts and apricots.
Spread over baked mixture.
Bake 30 minutes or until done.
Cool in pan.
